I was thrilled to learn of Geospatial Art Maps, as my partner Isaiah and I are both map lovers. You can often find us staring for extended periods of time at maps of our favorite places. I was inspired to ask Kim to create a map of a beloved region in the White Mountains for Isaiah's birthday. This is a place he's been visiting since his childhood, and it's become a favorite place and series of hiking trails for me as well. Kim's mapping--using a luscious, green satellite image, overlaid with waterways and hiking trails, captures all that we love about this place. This art map will be a treasure we will stare at for years and years. — Alison
Thank you, Kim, for creating a custom map as a gift for three of my closest friends that I’ve known for over 25 years. I loved the beautiful antique style map with rich teal, blue, and yellow tones featuring roads and lakes, a personal title, and stars identifying each of my friend’s homesteads. Your map exceeded my expectations, and my friends were incredibly moved by my personal and one-of-a-kind gift. — Nancy
Thank you, Kim, for creating an original Nipmuc homelands map using scientific methods of hydrology, historical documents, and geospatial analysis. Your contribution has added a dynamic learning experience for not only early education students, but additionally all those seeking to see the land through an Indigenous lens. Kuttabatomish (thank you!). — Larry Spotted Crow Mann, Founder & Co- Director Ohketeau Cultural Center
